The Barrington Story

Established in 1976, for us denim has always been a way of life. At Barrington Jeans we live and breathe denim! Our founder, Peter Alexander Barrington, had an absolute passion for denim and made it his mission to create quality jeans with the perfect fit that would make women look good and feel good. By the 1990s, Barrington was a sort-after brand and became one of the top selling local jeans brands.

Sadly in 2010, after a period of illness, Peter Barrington, passed away. His late wife, Jani Barrington and her daughter Jocelyn Moodley, took over the brand, focusing on supplying independent boutiques, throughout South Africa and Namibia.

Following in his footsteps, we continue with the same dedicated passion and love for denim. After 40 years, we still aspire to make good fitting jeans, for real woman, with real bodies, of all shapes and sizes. We are proudly local and manufacture in Durban which means we offer an affordable product without compromising on quality. With that in mind we know our jeans will last beyond one season and will become that favourite pair in your closet.

Tell us your Barrington story, tell us why you #loveyourjeans. – we’d love to hear from you. xx
